Mighty Mouse enjoys a game of Rock?em Sock?em Robots, as only he can - knocking a robot's block off.
Mighty Mouse inadvertently helps two mouse kids in a snowball fight.
Bradford, a cat spy working for Professor Edam steals the professor's discovery of "a new metal absolutely sensitive to radio-rays", and turns it over to The Claw and Professor Ohm. With it, the evil cats build a nearly-invincible, radio-controlled robot army. ..."Nearly-invincible", that is!
Mighty Mouse's suit is stolen by a cat who thinks it's the source of his powers. Silly cat.
The Claw and Professor Ohm have stolen a map from Professor Edam showing the location of newly discovered uranium deposits. The uranium, however, is deep underwater forcing the evil cats to act quickly before Mighty Mouse can intervene. They aren't quick enough.
Percy thinks that Little Roquefort riding a egg beater across a tightrope is easy pickings. Guess again.
Mighty Mouse enjoys a game of Rock?em Sock?em Robots, as only he can - knocking a robot's block off.
Cover code: 10010-501. Publication date is derived from the cover code. On sale date (month and year) is derived from the issue code appearing in the bottom tier of page one. No ads in this issue. All 36 pages are comics or comics-related text material. Edited out of Western Publishing's New York offices. This issue is a rare instance of Western Publishing reprinting comic book material originating from a source other than itself (St. John Publishing). Such is the case for Mighty Mouse (Western, 1964 Series) #161-165 (1964-1965).
- Repelling the Robots! - New cover illustrating a reprinted interior story.
- The Snowball Fight - New story. Black and white on inside front cover.
- The Steel Slaves - For this Gold Key reprint, Western Publishing provided a new ?Mighty Mouse? logo, modified the original title from ?Adventure of the Steel Slaves? to just ?The Steel Slaves?, and produced its own coloring for this story. In addition to those ?standard Western modifications? routinely made to St. John reprints, several modifications have been made to the opening splash panel, both in configuration and dialogue. Professor Edam?s initial dialogue balloon has been relocated from the upper right (St. John original) to the middle of the splash panel. The dialogue is also modified as follows: ?All right, Bradford, 3/1,000,000 of a degree more heat, reduce moisture by XYNR / # squared.? (St. John original) ?All right, Bradford, increase heat by three one-millionths of a degree, reduce moisture by XRn ?2 ?3!? (Gold Key reprint) The caption at the lower right is redrawn from a round-edged scroll to a standard rectangle. The caption text is also modified as follows: ?Chapter I It is a tense moment in the laboratories of the world-famous mouse-scientist, Prof. Edam. The next few seconds will tell whether the months of research spent on the top-secret project XYZ, have been a success or a failure!? (St. John original) ?It is a tense moment in Professor Edam?s laboratory. The next few seconds will tell whether the top-secret project XYZ, is a success or a failure!? (Gold Key reprint)
- Suit Looted - In this Gold Key reprint, Western Publishing provided a new ?Mighty Mouse? logo, new title font, and produced its own coloring for this story.
- Danger in the Ocean Depths - The first six pages of the original St. John story are eliminated. The story opens on what was original page 7. A newly added opening caption box refers to the theft of Professor Edam's map and the underwater uranium deposits. As a result of this editing, Mighty Mouse does not appear until page 4 of this version, and Professor Edam (though mentioned) does not appear at all. For this Gold Key reprint, Western Publishing provided a new ?Mighty Mouse? logo, new title font, and produced its own coloring for this story.
- Percy Takes a Beating - Black and white on inside back cover.
- Mighty Mouse Pin-Up - Color on back cover. The front cover image is repeated on the back cover, sans logo and all cover copy.
