Clark Kent writes a series of articles that anger crime boss King Kobra, so he hires assassins to murder Clark. Two attempts fail and Superman disguises himself as Dead-Shot Daniels and appears to murder Clark to get an introduction to King Kobra, whom he then arrests.

The Kryptonian criminal Tor-An escapes from the Phantom Zone and attempts to humiliate Superman's family. He steals the identity of Michael Barnes, a new science teacher at Midvale High School, and attempts to marry Supergirl. He is foiled when Supergirl's telepathic friends enlist the aid of Saturn Girl.

Jerry is given a traffic ticket for disturbing the peace, due to the noise of his car.
