The Red Skull tries to take over the United States before the bicentennial and uses the Cosmic Cube to transport Captain America to him. Captain America is able to stop him when he gives the Cosmic Cube a Hostess Twinkie and it stops obeying the Red Skull.

While the month of publication isn't given on the cover or in the indicia, the Annual can be given an August 1976 cover-date, as the print set-up (back cover, inside front and back covers, internal advertisements and Bullpen Bulletins page) matches that of the other Marvels with August cover-dates.
