Nick Caputo believes the figure of the wrestler is indeed drawn by Colan and it is the rendering of the wrestler's face by inker Steve Leialoha that is causing the confusion. Howard Bender contacted Steve Leialoha who verified: cover pencils are by Gene Colan with wrestler revisions by John Romita and inks by Steve Leialoha.
