1: Twilight Zone #2 - IDW
The new Twilight Zone comics from IDW feature an array of artists and writers, each doing a self-contained take on the classic tv show. This issue is written and drawn by Tom Scioli, who wrote Godzilla's Monsterpiece Theatre (if you haven’t read it, you should as soon as possible), which happens to be my favorite book of 2025 so I had high expectations for this issue.

While I really enjoyed Scioli’s story, I couldn’t help but feel like the plot of the story didn’t feel like an episode of the Twilight Zone. The tone of the story on the other hand definitely felt like something out of the original series from the 50s and 60s. It revolves around a group of astronauts in the far future as they search for life on other planets.
While you don’t have to be a fan of the Twilight Zone show in order to appreciate this series, it definitely helps. We’re all out of the first issue at Time Warp but because the series is an anthology, you don’t need it to jump head first into issue #2
2: Batman/Deadpool #1 - DC
Batman/Deadpool #1 is the second of the DC Marvel crossovers featuring the Caped Crusader and the Merc with a Mouth. Complete with creators like Grant Morrison, Dan Mora, G. Willow Wilson, Tom Taylor and more!

I’m a huge Grant Morrison fan so I was equally surprised and elated when Marvel and DC announced that this book was happening. The Batman and Deadpool story has plenty of references to Morrison’s prior work so if you’re also a fan of theirs, there’s plenty of easter eggs. Aside from the lead story, I thought the Nightwing and Laura Kinney crossover was particularly strong.
I found DC’s version of this crossover to be significantly better than its Marvel counterpart. For me, that partially comes from the fact that I’m a bigger fan of the creators that DC hired for this project than anyone that worked on the Marvel version. If you passed on that one for whatever reason or were disappointed, I’d still give this one a shot.
3: Ultimates #18 - Marvel
Ultimate Endgame is just around the corner and this issue is the metaphorical pot reaching its boiling point. If you haven’t been following the Ultimate Universe, the Maker was locked away for two years of real time during the events of Ultimate Invasion – and the count down hits zero in Ultimates #18!

It’s no secret that I’ve been a proponent of Deniz Camp’s work over the past year or so, with titles like Absolute Martian Manhunter and Assorted Crisis Events, but seeing him make the Ultimate Universe feel more lived in over the course of the last year and a half has been fun in its own regard. Part of me is a little disappointed that I can’t read the next issue for another month so if you don’t want that same feeling, I might hold of reading #18 until you have #19 to pair with it (I don’t have that level of patience though).
This series feels like the lynchpin that holds the Ultimate Universe together, so if you’re reading any of the Ultimate titles and want to gear up for Ultimate Endgame, you should pick up the trades and get caught up before the beginning of the end next month!
