When Dottie and I took over Time Warp we knew from the start we would want to move the shop to another larger space. Our intention was to have special events and have a dedicated space for online streams. So when we found the space on Arapahoe we knew it was going be awesome. The space we moved to is where the Video Station was before they moved to 28th street.
Removing the Un-Needed Walls
When we looked at the space, there were a lot of walls we didn't need. But thankfully none were load bearing so we went to work clearing the space. The walls themselves weren’t too bad, but when we started pulling up the floor everything went sideways. It looked like the past 2 or 3 tenants had just built on top of the previous floor. Leaving behind a mess of glue, concreate, self-leveling concreate and more glue.

But Dottie was not phased, she just got a few different chemicals and went to work. After the first day she was able to clear away the glue and concreate from a space approximately 2 feet by 2 feet. For reference the size of the new shop is 4000 sq. feet.
After that day we called in the pros. In our case it was a couple of 20 somethings that came in and busted it out in a few days. They brought in a huge 700 lb. diamond tipped grinder and went to town. I was totally impressed with how much work they got done in the time they did. Totally worth it bring in the pros because we could have never been able to do what they did, even if we had weeks.
Time to Add Some Pop!
After the floor was cleared it was painting time! This is totally were Dottie shines. She has a gift with color theory and went big and bold for the new color pallet. With a bright background of yellow it brightens up a room that is underground. It gives it a sense of openness and brightness that makes it not feel like a cave. She then put red, orange, and another shade of yellow for the accent purposes. Then tied it all together by painting the floor Tardis Blue.
Ready for Moving Day!
It was truly a Herculine effort to get the new space ready for moving day. And most of the credit for making that happen was because Dottie is a beast.
